How We Got Started With iTravex |
The initial inquiry we received from iTravex was intriguing to me. The concept was so different from anything else I knew about.
Based on the information in the iTravex introductory e-mail, I decided to become a member and give it a try. After all, it is free to join. That was in 2006, and it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made!...

The Story Of Our First Trip |
Each Thanksgiving we travel to Ft. Myers beach, to celebrate the holiday with family. We learned several years ago that my in-law’s condo is too small to accommodate the four of us. It is also a retirement community and therefore not a great environment for two active teenagers!

Our iTravex Tips |
- I usually put out 20-30 inquiries. I often get positive responses from several vacation home owners, and this allows me to have the choice of where I want to stay, based on their location, size of accommodations, and amenities.
- Once someone has agreed to host you, then you can begin negotiating. Most of the time a host will charge you in the same amount of points as what they would have charged a renter in a dollar value. Sometimes they will charge a higher point value because they are not directly collecting any revenue for the home. Others discount their points for last minute rentals. It is up to you and the host to determine what is an agreed upon number of points. Some hosts choose to include their cleaning fee in their points, and often do the cleaning themselves. That is my personal favorite as it is less cost to you, the guest. Others would like you to pay them or the cleaning crew directly. Again, that is all part of the negotiating process. With all of us in the system being vacation home owners, everyone tends to treat the home like they do their own and cleaning is usually minimal.
- The iTravex system is that is one of the best vacation tools I have ever tapped into. When you own a vacation rental home, and take advantage of iTravex, it literally opens the world up to you for travel.
