Guest is usually a registered member of iTravex or sometimes their relative, friend, employee or business associate.
Guest Reservation Fee is the non-refundable amount collected by iTravex on the guest's credit card when the reservation is accepted and completed by the guest. The reservation fee is 10 percent of the Negotiated Rent.
Host is a registered member who allows a guest to stay in their vacation home for the Negotiated Rent paid with iTravex points.
Inquiries
Inquiry is the first communication submitted from a prospective guest to a prospective host that includes dates for a proposed stay. Communication between the host and guest follows with the use of an internal dialog system until both parties mutually agree upon the details.
Incomplete Inquiry is created when the terms of the inquiry do not meet the expectation of either the prospective guest or host. The inquiry can be re-visited and re-activated by either member in the future.
Member is a vacation home owner who is listed with a Referring Vacation Rental Web Site and is registered with iTravex. In an inquiry or reservation, a member becomes either a guest or a host. A member can be a guest in one stay and a host in another stay within their iTravex member account.
Neighborhoods are areas, suburbs, or large groups of vacation homes within a city or destination. A property's neighborhood is controlled by the property's referring vacation rental website, not iTravex.
Available Nights for a Stay
"Ready! Offers" are preset by the host, and list the specific dates and points.
"Likely" nights are predictable vacant nights that have been automatically published based on the host's settings.
"Ask" nights have no guarantee of availability. If there are no suitable "Ready! Offers" or "Likely" nights, then try your luck with a "Ask", or search for a different property.
Originating Site is a web site that advertises vacation homes for rent and also sponsors the same properties to iTravex. Currently the originating sites offered are
VRBO.com and
OwnerDirect.com. To provide even more choice to iTravex members, additional referring vacation home web sites may be added in the future, to increase the inventory available to the members of iTravex.
Relatives or Friends can use the service as long as the remain respectful of personal property, conduct themselves accordingly, etc.
Rent
Normal is the amount the host would normally charge for the same number of occupants and time period (for an iTravex reservation, that amount is converted into iTravex points).
Negotiated is the amount the host and guest agree on which can be less or more than the normal rent (for an iTravex reservation, that amount is converted into iTravex points).
The host is who determines the amount of rent (and therefore points) that the guest will be paying for their iTravex stay.
Reservations
Reservation Offer is created by the host when both the guest and the host have communicated and agreed upon the details of an inquiry made by the guest on the host's property.
Confirm Reservation is the final step taken by the guest to accept the reservation offer that has been created by the host. It is the irrevocable transaction processed by iTravex ... the guest reservation fee is paid and the points are transferred to the host's account immediately. A confirmed reservation is final and cannot be cancelled or reversed.
Decline Reservation is an option available to the guest. After a host creates an open reservation offer the guest can still decline the offer if they are no longer interested, have reserved another iTravex property or are not in agreement with the details.
